INFO
sonetschka's faces is a series of drawings that concentrates on facial expressions. every face represents a story and reflects the past and it is a snapshot of the present at the same time. we are trained to sense human emotions through their faces and this language is understandable all over the world. however, we still possess the freedom to interpret it. a facial expression creates expectations and evokes different associations within each of us. the enlarged drawings sonetschkas faces are strong, associative portraits in contrasting black and white. the pencil is used not only as a means to shade the surface of the paper, but more as a tool to understand both the physique and psychology of the figure.
